Star Dublin footballer, Jack McCaffrey has pulled up his socks again for Christmas Sock Day which returns on Thursday, 6th December 2018. Developed by labels-for-less retailer, TK Maxx, the campaign invites the public to sport their Christmas socks to raise funds for Enable Ireland, which provides vital support services for children and young people with disabilities across Ireland.
TK Maxx is encouraging people around the country to come together and don their favourite Christmas socks to help raise funds and support Enable Ireland and it couldn’t be easier to take part. All people need to do is wear their favourite festive socks on 6th December, strike a pose or do a dance, and share their #socksie on social media. For each and every Christmas sock shot uploaded to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the #socksie hashtag, TK Maxx will donate €1 to Enable Ireland to help take action for children with disabilities.
And if last year’s Christmas socks aren’t quite up to scratch (or Instagram worthy), TK Maxx stores nationwide are stocking a fabulously fun range of Christmas socks for kids and adults alike. Priced from €6.99 with at least €2.50 from each pair going straight to Enable Ireland. There are many different designs to choose from and they’re available in-store now.
Putting on his festive footwear, Jack McCaffrey commented on his involvement in the 2018 campaign: “Christmas Sock Day is just around the corner and what a brilliant opportunity it is for everyone to get involved to support this great cause. Just put on your finest festive socks, take a #socksie and share on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to help take action for children and young people with disabilities across Ireland.”
Jo Murphy, AVP of Corporate Responsibility at TK Maxx, said: “Christmas Sock Day is great way to get in the festive spirit and help raise vital funds to take action for children with disabilities. So dig out your most Christmassy of Christmas socks on the 6th December in support, take a #socksie and leave everything else to us.
It’s a cause very close to our hearts, especially at this time of year, and we want to make this year’s campaign the most sock-sessful yet.”
Joanne O’Hagan, Head of Fundraising at Enable Ireland said: “TK Maxx are fantastic supporters of our disability services all year round and we are delighted to once again be their charity partner for Christmas Sock Day 2018. It’s a fantastic, fun way for people to get into the Christmas spirit and raise funds for our much needed services for over 7,000 children with disabilities in Ireland.”
Since 1997, together with their customers, TK Maxx has raised over €3 million to support over 17,000 children and young people with disabilities and their families in local communities in 14 counties. Continue to support the campaign by sharing your #socksie on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for Christmas Sock Day on 6th December.
